THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently seeking a candidate for the position as the Field Sales Representative at our AB office.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Field Sales Representative to join our dynamic Sales team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in building strong client relationships, driving sales growth, and promoting quality food products to Asian market & mainstream banners and independent supermarkets. If you have a passion for sales, food, and delivering excellent customer service, we want to hear from you! The Field Sales Representative reports to the Mainstream Market Department Manager and BC Sales Director.

Responsibilities:

Promote food products by presenting features, pricing, and after-sales service
Proactively identify customer needs and provide timely solutions
Cross-sell product lines and introduce new items and promotional deals
Negotiate sales terms, contracts, and pricing with customers
Collect accounts receivable (AR) payments as needed
Advise customers on delivery timelines and product availability
Conduct regular customer visits and follow-ups via phone and email
Monitor and analyze competitor activity, pricing, and market trends
Consistently achieve sales targets and contribute to overall team success
Provide sales reports and market feedback to management
Market survey responsibilities
Requirements/ Must-Haves:

Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in the grocery or food distribution industry
Proven ability to build rapport, close deals, and manage accounts independently
A reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Proficiency in English (written and verbal); strong presentation and communication skills
Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities
Confidence in managing sales targets and handling objections under pressure
Highly organized with strong multi-tasking and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Physically able to lift and carry product cases up to 50 lbs
Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

Experience working with mainstream grocery chains or independent supermarkets
Familiarity with sales tools and CRM applications
Good command in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is considered an asset, particularly for supporting our diverse client base.
Passion for food and trying new recipes – we love team members who bring curiosity and energy
