SUMMER INTERNSHIP: The Chess 'N Math Association has paid internship positions only available for students currently at University with marketing and software/programming skills, over the period June to August 2019: 8 or 12 weeks of average 35 hours weekly. This is a hands-on position that would only suit energetic, enthusiastic candidates, particularly with experience of camps, online marketing, and word processing. A presentable looking, good speaking voice, and telephonic manner would be an asset. The interns will also learn Store administration at Strategy Games, Toronto (701 Mt. Pleasant Road), and at Chess Camps at the nearby Church of Transfiguration. Chess Camp: • welcoming students, take attendance, registrations • assisting the instructors at camp outings and lunch-breaks • taking afternoon attendance, registrations, helping dismissal Strategy Games: much time will be spent in learning intensively the workings of a business store and administration of the organization Strategy Games store: • Keeping the premises clean – Vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows • Learning the POS System, transactions, card machines • Learning products, inventory. Intra-city stock transfer, shipping, email • Undertaking to effectively index the store products by shelf, in excel • Learning to make badges/buttons. Fulfilling daily quotas efficiently • Preparing flyers, carrying out door-to-door distribution in the neighborhood Chess n Math Association: • The student will participate hands on in: • Learning office administration, filling, accounting, data-entry, phone calls. • Learning to create registration forms and upload them, flyers, and other data. • Graphic design of print/online flyers to CMA events, tournaments, schools • Helping design a small online portal for instructor and staff – invoicing • Other admin tasks, as may be required.
