Painter / Finisher – Architectural Millwork
CN Architectural Millwork is looking for an experienced Painter / Finisher to join our team.
We are an established commercial millwork company
specializing in high-quality custom architectural millwork and cabinetry. Our
projects include custom cabinetry, kitchens, built-ins, furniture, bars, retail
units, casework and architectural paneling.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for someone with experience in painting and
finishing custom millwork and cabinetry who takes pride in producing a
high-quality finished product.
We are open to both part-time and full-time candidates:
Part-time:
For candidates whose primary skill set is painting and finishing, we are
looking for someone to work on a part-time basis.
Full-time: Candidates with additional skills and experience in cabinetmaking, woodworking, millwork fabrication, installation or other shop skills may have the opportunity for full-time employment.
This is a great opportunity to join an experienced team and work on a variety of custom architectural millwork projects.
Responsibilities
Prepare millwork and cabinetry for finishing
Sand, fill, prime and prepare surfaces for paint and clear finishes
Mix and match stains, paints and finishes as required
Apply stains, paints, lacquers, primers and clear coats using spray equipment
Operate and maintain spray equipment and finishing tools
Achieve consistent colour, sheen and finish across projects
Inspect finished pieces for quality and correct imperfections as required
Perform touch-ups and repairs
Maintain a clean, organized and safe finishing area
Clean and maintain spray equipment and tools
Work closely with cabinetmakers and other members of the production team
Assist with other shop tasks as required, depending on experience and skill set
Occasionally assist with finishing and touch-ups on job sites
What We're Looking For
Experience in painting, finishing or architectural millwork
Experience spraying lacquer, paint and clear finishes
Experience with HVLP or similar spray equipment is an asset
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good understanding of surface preparation, sanding and finishing techniques
Ability to achieve consistent colours and finishes
Reliable, organized and safety-conscious
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills
Experience
in cabinetmaking, woodworking, millwork fabrication or installation is an
asset
