We are a well-established food trading company
based in Coquitlam. We are currently seeking a professional and experienced
leader to join our accounting team as an Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities of this position:
1. Delegate and oversee the Accounting Department of the company and affiliated companies, but not limited to:
-Accounts payable and receivable;
-Bank reconciliations of companies;
-Payment of Accounts Payable (cheque runs);
-Receipts and deposits of Accounts receivable;
-Inventory control;
-Ensure Daily Sales Reports for each of group of companies are done;
-Ensure each of group of companies' Credit/Debit cards receivables are reconciled with Cards
Payment Processor;
-Preparation of Commission Report(s) for external marketing company;
-Payroll including taxable benefits are done on timely basis;
-Preparation of T4 and T4 summary;
-Statutory remittances and filings (payroll deductions, GST, PST, WCB, Employer Health Tax, corporate tax installments etc.);
- Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements;
- Preparation of financial analysis required by the President;
-Preparation of working papers to support year-end financial statements for external accountant;
-Document capital assets acquisitions and prepare amortizations;
-Accrue liabilities for payroll and expenses
2. Perform the same duties as other accounting staff whenever required
3. Ensure inter-company transactions and transactions with affiliated companies are processed
accurately and on time
4. Ensure year-end documents are prepared accurately and on time for external accountants
5. Liaise with external accountants for annual corporate tax filings
6. Mentor, train, and support the Accounting staff
7. Collaborate with other departments such as Purchasing, Store Operations, Warehouse and Human Resources in performance of day-to-day activities, identifying issues and finding solutions
8. Liaise with external parties such as customers, vendors, trades, government authorities, bank(s), and other relevant parties related to the group of companies as required
9. Assist the owner with corporate strategic planning and risk management
10. Draft and prepare letters and memos for the President as required
11. Assist the President in preparation of budgets and forecast of the group of companies as required
12. Assist the President in procurement and negotiation for services, office supplies and assets;
13. Participate in special projects as assigned, such as IT upgrades, inventory management and
budgets
14. Handle administrative and other duties as assigned
15. Perform other duties assigned by the President
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, CPA,CGA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a similar role with leadership responsibilities
- Proficient in Sage 50, EasyPay, Microsoft Excel, and experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, and Payroll
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent multitasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Cantonese and Mandarin is an asset
This is a full-time position. We offer a competitive compensation package, including
benefits. Annual Salary: Up to $100,000
