Dilong Virtual Accounting Inc. is a fast-growing virtual accounting firm basedin Richmond, BC, specializing in corporate and personal tax filing, payroll, andbookkeeping services for Canadian small businesses and incorporatedprofessionals. To support our expanding client base, we are seeking adedicated Tax & Bookkeeping Technician to join our team.
Main Job Duties:
• Maintain general ledgers and prepare journal entries and trial balances
• Reconcile accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Prepare personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax returns
• Prepare and file GST/HST returns and other government forms (e.g., T4, T5, T5018)
• Administer payroll, calculate deductions, and remit CPP/EI/WCB
• Perform bookkeeping using Wave and Microsoft Excel
• Respond to client inquiries regarding accounting and tax matters
• Prepare documentation for CRA audits and information request
Requirements:
Education:
• Completion of secondary school (mandatory).
Experience:
• Minimum 1–2 years of full-cycle bookkeeping and personal/corporate tax preparation experience
• Proficiency in Wave, TaxCycle, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of CRA rules for income tax, payroll remittances, and GST/HST
Mandatory Training:
Completion of one of the following:
- H&R Block Tax Academy – Income Tax Level 1 (Federal), OR
-Canadian Tax Academy – Preparing Canadian Income Tax Returns – Introductory
Course AND:
-Canadian Tax Academy – Introduction to Corporate Tax – Preparing T2 Corporate
Tax Returns
Languages:
• Fluency in English (CLB Level 5 or equivalent) is required for:
- Accurately interpreting tax regulations and CRA correspondence.
- Preparing financial reports and government filings.
- Responding to client inquiries in writing and verbally.
• Proficiency may be demonstrated through:
a) Canadian education/work experience, OR
b) Interview performance and practical skills assessment.
• Proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong asset due to frequent client
interactions with Chinese-speaking small business owners. This is not a mandatory requirement.
