Position: Accounting Administrator

Location: Burnaby, BC, V5H 4N2

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $45,000 – $50,000 annually

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Administrator to join our team in Burnaby, BC.

Position Summary:

The Accounting Administrator plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting operational efficiency across departments. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounts payable, payroll administration, and reconciliation of sales and cash transactions across multiple business units. This role requires strong organizational skills, precision, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Accounts Payable

- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system

- Process vendor payments through various methods, including cheque runs, EFT, credit card, and wire transfers

- Deposit incoming customer cheques and maintain records

- Reconcile bank accounts, debit card activity, tips, and other cash-related accounts on a monthly basis

- Ensure timely updates and accuracy of all related financial accounts

Payroll Administration

- Review employee timesheets and liaise with departmental leads to confirm accurate payroll data

- Maintain employee records, including vacation and sick leave balances

- Administer Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) documentation, including travel arrangements, payroll, insurance claims, T4s, and final settlements

- Retail and Events Reconciliation

- Reconcile daily retail sales from the tasting bar, bistro, and events with Moneris and other receipts (cash/cheques)

- Enter sales and receipt data into accounting systems promptly and accurately

- Maintain organized financial documentation, both digitally and in hard copy

- General Administrative & Financial Support

- Perform ad hoc administrative duties as required by the finance department

- Support internal and external audit processes through accurate documentation and timely reporting

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Chinese; ability to communicate in Chinese is required

- Accounting diploma or certificate from a recognized institution

- Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience

- Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel

- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and reconciliations

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively

- Willingness to relocate to and work in Burnaby, BC

- Legally entitled to work in Canada

- Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a collaborative environment
